Mondloch Place is a supportive housing initiative opened in 2013, in partnership with Fairfax County. Mondloch Place consists of 20 efficiency apartments, housing 20 single adults who have experienced homelessness for many years. Residents sign individual leases and pay rent. Staff is on site to offer support and services. Mondloch Place is unique in that it converted a former homeless shelter into a permanent supportive housing community.
Mondloch Place received the 2014 HOME Excellence Award from the National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA). This program also received a 2014 Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NaCo) and the Award of Excellence in the HOME Investment Partnerships Programs category from NACCED, The National Association for County Community and Economic Development.
