The holiday season is upon us, and we look forward to the outpouring of generous goodwill from our community that will help our residents in shelters and supportive housing have a wonderful holiday season! Here’s how you can help:
Thanksgiving: Provide a Food Basket, containing the following: potatoes (white and sweet), stuffing mix, 2 cans of corn, 2 cans of green beans, 2 cans of peas, 2 cans of fruit, 2 pies, whipped topping, rolls, gravy, and a gift card to buy the turkey and/or ham! Other helpful food items can be included, such as mac & cheese, peanut butter, cereal, crackers, soup, canned tuna, and easy to prepare items. Food baskets need to be delivered to the admin office by Friday, November 22.
Provide a $25 grocery gift card to Safeway, Shoppers, or Giant. Please mail to the admin office, 8407E Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22309, by November 22.
CHRISTMAS!
Adopt a family – We’ll provide the wish lists, you do the shopping! Wish lists will be available mid-November, and the gifts are due by December 18.
Adopt a single – Provide 3 $25 gift cards–one to a discount store (Walmart or Target), one to a grocery store, and one to a restaurant. Names are available now!
Provide gift cards for last-minute needs (families who move in the week of Christmas, for example!!)
